The children of Mariano Guzzini Raymond, John, Virgil, and José Giannunzio founded Harvey Designs on June 30. The company was set up to produce art objects in enamelled copper. The choice of the name was in reference to Harvey, the invisible giant rabbit, the imaginary friend of James Stewart in the film of the same name released in 1950
Initially, the young brothers worked Guzzini in his new adventure only at night after completing their shifts at Fratelli Guzzini.
Harvey is the core of the future iGuzzini lighting. In fact, shortly after the founding of the company, the production of copper objects is complemented with the manufacturing of plastic lighting fittings.
01 June 1963: founding of Harvey Guzzini Designs R. & C. Snc members: Raymond, Virgil, José, Giannunzio and Adolfo. Adolfo is the President, Giannunzio managing director.
1964 Giancarlo Capici designs the first catalog that offers a range of lamps in a unique style. The production of copper objects been if by now abandoned and the company had invested in machine tools for the manufacture of metal parts of the lighting equipment.
Luigi Massoni was given the task of developing the image of the company of Harvey, and the coordination of the image of the products, displays and packaging.
